熱帶風暴畫眉是2001年太平洋颱風季期間形成的最後一場風暴，於12月26日在南海海域發展形成，比有紀錄以來世界上任何一個熱帶氣旋都更靠近赤道。系統迅速增強並沿馬來西亞最東南端登陸，於12月28日在蘇門答臘上空消散，其殘留最終在北印度洋重新組織。風暴在馬來西亞東部引發洪災和山體滑坡，造成5人喪生，經濟損失約360萬美元。「畫眉」之後成為日本氣象廳自21世紀開始為太平洋颱風命名以來退役的第一個風暴名稱，用「琵琶」代替。
